VHA has the technology,
the tools and the techniques
Even major change is possible if you have a clear destination and roadmap.
From the outset, a key advantage of VHA is members bringing to other members the ability to share ideas and benefit from the experiences of organizations all around the country. Over the years, VHA has developed and deployed, in conjunction with members, a variety of tools designed to facilitate best practice sharing and continuous improvement system-wide. And perhaps never before have these tools been more important than in today's rapidly changing health care world.
For example, we can start with Enhanced Blueprints that graphically explain sometimes-complex health care practices in easy-to-follow visual formats and move to Rapid Adoption Networks that help organizations field new processes and procedures; the networks can do this with optimized speed to ensure "critical mass" and ultimately process improvement. Next, from RAN, we can move on to Collaboratives, which consist of groups of hospitals that come together with similar goals and challenges and benefit from shared efforts. Finally, from Collaboratives, we can look to Sustainability initiatives that help keep the benefits growing and improving long after a specific program is launched.
So while large, multisite hospital organizations may benefit from the cross-pollination of ideas between locations, VHA member hospitals gain even more by learning from the unique cultures and environments of each of our more than 2,500 members. |
